Yamunotri, is the origin (source) of Yamuna River which is one of the most sacred rivers in India. The river Yamuna originates from Yamunotri Glacier, which is situated in the Kalind Mountain. Yamunotri lies in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, on the western side of Garhwal. It is around 3,200 metres above the sea level. Yamunotri is famous for its glaciers and mountain peaks. . From here the river Yamuna drops into Saptsrishi Kund.
Legends : The Goddess Yamuna is said to be the daughter of Sun and twin sister of Yama (the god of death); in Vedas, Yamuna is called Yami (lady of life). It is a saying that a bath in the holy waters of Yamuna is said to clean all the sins. And also it protects from sudden and painful demise.
Yamunotri Temple : Temple of Goddess Yamuna, located near the foot of Kalind Parbat. This temple remains closed in the winter from second day of Diwali till Akshaya Tritiya. It is said that Goddess Yamuna leaves this place in winter and comes back again in the starting of summer.
Surya Kund : It is one of the hot water springs , near to the Yamunotri Temple. People boil the rice by trying them in a cloth and dipping in the water of Surya Kund, hence treat this as prasad from Devi.
Divya Shilla : Divya Shilla is a rock in red-brown color, to be prayed before the prayer of the Goddess Yamuna.

Pick up from Delhi to move torwards Haridwar by Road, lunch on route . On reaching Haridwar, make your self relax after Hotel check-in .
In the evening, visit Har Ki Pauri.
Dinner and over night stay at Hotel.
Early morning, drive to Syanachatti via Mussoorie. Enroute bifurcate from main road to Lakahamandal (5kms /one side), visit the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. After darshan drive to your onward destination. Check-in to Hotel at Syana Chatti. Over night stay at hotel.
Drive to Phool Chatti, trek start from here to Yamunotri. Either by walk or by horse or by Doli (all at your own cost), After reaching Yamunotri, take bath in Jamunabai Kund's warm water. After "Darshan" of pious "Yamunaji" returning to Hanumanchatti. Later drive back to Syanachatti. Over night stay at Hotel.
Yamunotri Temple: Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th Century. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again.
Surya Kund: There are a Number of thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows into numerous pools. The most important of these is Surya Kund.
Divya Shila: A rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple.
