Buda Kedar Temple
At an aloofness of 60 kilo meters from New Tehri town there is a small village where the Buda Kedar Temple is located. The location of temple is magnificent as it is situated at the confluence of the river Bal Ganga and Dharam Ganga. It is said by the legends that Duryodhna meditated here after the war of Kurukshetra. It happened when all the five Pandavas started searching of Lord Shiva after the battle. Pandavas were guided by Balkhili to find Shiva. As they reached at the confluence an old man was meditating there but suddenly disappeared.
Khatling Glacier
It is the perfect and very popular trekking destination for trekking lovers in Tehri District. The area is situated 62 meters away from New Tehri. Trekking to this way begins from Ghuttu. There are many other small villages by passing through this way like Gangi, Reeh, Kalyani and Bhomakgufta. Gangi is the last town among these villages. One can find here a rest house which offers accommodation facilities as well.
Narender Nagar
Narender Nagar is located about 14 kilo meters from Muni-ki-Reti. The area is perched at a height of 1129 meters above the sea level. A few years in the past the area was the Headquarter of District Tehri Garhwal. But in the current time New Tehri is the Headquarter of the region. The beautiful site provides majestic views of Ganga and Doon Valley. Tourist particularly visits the site to see the view of sun set.
Sem Mukhem
It is a domestic area inside the district which is elevated at an altitude of 2903 meters above the sea level. The shrine of Nag Raja at this place is honored extreme by the local inhabitants. The temple is located atop of the hill, at a distance of around 5 kilo meters from Mukhem town. Mukhem is about 2 kilo meters from Khamba Khal.
