A holy shrine Someshwar, is located in North of the Almora town and around 35 kilo meters away from the district. Someshwar includes a Shiva temple of old days which is deemed to be considered that the temple was constructed by Raja Som Chand, founder of Chand Dynasty. Tourist can also visit Koshi Temple, 10 kilo meters from the city. The temple WAS constructed in 12th century by the rulers of the Kayturi dynasty. Gananath is popular for its Shiva temple and for many others caves located in this area. Gananath is situated 47 kilo meters north of the town, Almora.

Chitai temple is devoted to Golu Devta at a distance of 8 kilo meters from Almora. If a wish is fulfilled people hang up little bells in the temple. This is the reason the temple is filled with tiny bells.
